Classical Accordion presentation in Manhattan School of Music by Hanzhi Wang

On the 14th of April, by invitation of Dr Fueting, Hanzhi, as a visiting scholar, made a presentation of the classical accordion for the MSM composition department.
During the presentation, Hanzhi performed and talked about select pieces of the contemporary accordion repertoire such as "De Profundis" by Sofia Gubaidulina, "Wood Spirit" by Staffan Mossenmark, "Like a water-buffalo" by Yuji Takahashi etc. The purpose of this presentation was to open a new view on the possibilities of the classical accordion, encourage the new ideas in young composers and inspire them on contributing to the instrument's unique repertoire.
