On the 12th of May, Hanzhi, as a participant of the "West & East" duo with the clarinettist Giovanni Punzi, gave a concert in Salerno, Italy. The repertoire has covered a wide range of styles and genres such as Baroque miniature, contemporary tango, folk music, popular movie music and more.
The 6th of May, the World Accordion Day（WAD） which is celebrating every corner in the world. This year Hanzhi as guest invited to play in the Karlsson Music in Kungsbacka of Sweden with Swedish accordionist Bengan Jason. Hanzhi as classical accordionist gave an excellent performance for Swedish accordion enthusiast.
On the 30th of April, Hanzhi Wang has given a gift to the New Yorkers once again by performing at The National Opera Center in collaboration with the NY based accordionist Ivan Filipchyk. The audience got to enjoy a variety of solo pieces as Ivan played Bach and some of the 20'th century Russian accordion music and Hanzhi presented the Danish original accordion repertoire followed by her brilliant transcriptions of piano compositions by E. Grieg and M. Moskovsky. For the concluding section of the concert, the musicians prepared their duo arrangements of Adagio from the "Little Prince" ballet by E. Glebov and the first scene from the famous "Petrouchka" by I. Stravinsky.
On the 14th of April, by invitation of Dr Fueting, Hanzhi, as a visiting scholar, made a presentation of the classical accordion for the MSM composition department.
During the presentation, Hanzhi performed and talked about select pieces of the contemporary accordion repertoire such as "De Profundis" by Sofia Gubaidulina, "Wood Spirit" by Staffan Mossenmark, "Like a water-buffalo" by Yuji Takahashi etc. The purpose of this presentation was to open a new view on the possibilities of the classical accordion, encourage the new ideas in young composers and inspire them on contributing to the instrument's unique repertoire.
