    Hanzhi Wang, the first accordionist to win a place on the roster of Young Concert Artists in its 58-year history, will perform at the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The 7 p.m. performance is presented by UAB’s Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center as part of its ArtPlay Parlor Series.     Tonight the Young Artists Showcase features a studio performance by and conversation with accordionist Hanzhi Wang. The first accordionist to win a place on the roster of Young Concert Artists in the organization's 58-year history, Hanzhi Wang talked about her path to the instrument, and also how it works. Her program featured her own accordion arrangements of Bach, Mozkowski, Mozart, and a piece written for her by Martin Lohse.
